About this audiobook
In the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie-the-Pooh schemes to reach the honey at the top of a tree by floating up under a blue balloon disguised as a little black cloud — the first of many gentle muddles. He and Piglet dig a Cunning Trap for a Heffalump and catch only Pooh's head in a honey-jar; the wise Owl and the busy Rabbit help hunt for Eeyore's lost tail; Kanga and Baby Roo arrive and Piglet gets an unwanted bath; Pooh eats so much at Rabbit's that he sticks fast in the doorway for a week. There is an 'Expotition' to the North Pole and a flood in which Piglet, marooned and frightened, sends a message in a bottle and is rescued by Pooh in an upturned honey-pot. It all ends with a party in Pooh's honour and the warm certainty of friends who will always be there.
Why it's worth a listen
In a wood at the top of the world live a boy named Christopher Robin and his bear, Winnie-the-Pooh — who is round and honey-loving and, by his own cheerful admission, a Bear of Very Little Brain. It is the gentlest, most comforting book on this whole shelf: no villains, no danger, just Pooh floating up to a beehive under a balloon, Eeyore losing his tail, Piglet being brave though he is Very Small, and a circle of friends who look after one another. And it turns on the question this telling leaves you with: do you have to be clever, or big, or brave to be a good friend — or is a kind heart already enough?
A question to keep
